Industry Research
SIRCA undertakes research work with and for industry on a regular
basis. SIRCA has experienced researchers on staff, some of whom
having recently progressed through the SIRCA PhD program and who
are ideally placed to assist with certain specialised areas of research.
We also have access to a vast array of academics and students who
are able to take part or advise on projects. Certainly, we have
access to academic methodologies, which can add to the credibility
and robustness of the project.
Our specialisations include:
We
have been commissioned to undertake work on behalf of industry associations
such as the Australian
Financial Markets Association, where confidential transaction
data is collected from banks and collated to create the Australian
Financial Markets Report.
Other work involves collaboration of multiple industry partners
with university members for a specific project “E-Business
in Australian Wholesale and Financial Markets” with AFMA and
KPMG.
Industry Benchmarking
Collection of transaction and other data for compilation into an
industry report, with production of personalised reports “benchmarking”
individual participants against an industry average.
Examples of this include the benchmarking exercise on behalf of
wholesale banking operations in Australia with the Australian Financial
Markets Association; collection of market turnover data for wholesale
banks for production of the Australian Financial Markets Report
and Participant Profile reports for individual banks (AFMA).
Market Efficiency Research
SIRCA works closely with organisations such as the Australian Stock
Exchange Limited and Sydney Futures Exchange Limited, to undertake
research on their behalf. This research typically covers market
efficiency studies, regulatory policy and microstructure work.
Client Research
SIRCA will work with organisations to design and undertake research
of a descriptive nature. Interview clients or potential clients
to ascertain market trends and needs, competitor activity or as
input to strategic decision-making.
Information is reported back to the client with the option to present
at various levels within the organisation if requested.
Often client-based research undertaken by a third party will present
a more impartial view of the market. Outsourcing research to SIRCA
makes sense based on cost as well as research integrity.
Wholesale Research
Outsource your research requirements to SIRCA and focus on core
business. SIRCA is positioned to compile data or undertake research,
which in turn can be rebadged under the sponsor’s name and
used as a promotional tool.
Wholesale Research is useful for consultants, media, industry associations,
government and commercial organisations.
