Accessing Data
To obtain access to all data other than ASX
Daily Data, SFE
Daily Data, Company
Announcements, Aspect
Financial Data, Member Universities must complete a Data Consult
Form. Users must be authorised by the Member
Representative at their university before obtaining access to
this form.
Data
Consult Form (members only)
Consult Forms are reviewed by the Consult
Manager at SIRCA. On some occasions, approval must be sought
from the data vendor to allow access to the data. This is managed
by the Consult Manager.
ASX and SFE data consults will typically require approval if the
researcher requests order level data or broker identifiers. Requests
requiring approval are reviewed periodically.
Data
Approval Dates
Data approval dates are subject to change, so Members should check
this information before submitting a request. Requests will not
be approved outside these dates. Researchers are asked to keep these
dates in mind when submitting requests to ensure that the time taken
to receive data is minimised.
If approval is not required or after approval has been obtained,
the SIRCA programmers will estimate the time it will take to complete
the task and the Consult Manager will communicate this to the researcher.
SIRCA will deliver the data to the researchers as soon as possible.
Researchers should note that the peak period for data consults is
from July to November. Researchers should be aware that during this
time data consults are likely to take longer to be completed. Please
refer to our instructions on Downloading
Data to aid this process.
Data will be delivered via our ftp server, unless otherwise specified
by the user and approved by SIRCA. A new directory will be created
for each user. This data will be encrypted and will need to be decrypted
by the user after it has been downloading.
Further details may be obtained about this process from the SIRCA
programmers.
