SIRCA ‘Pitching Research’ Symposium Paper Submission Now Closed

SIRCA would like to thank all researchers who submitted papers in consideration for the ‘Pitching Research’ Symposium to be held in Sydney 27 February, 2015.

All researchers who submitted papers will shortly receive email notification confirming that their papers have been received for review.

SIRCA will notify the researchers chosen for inclusion in the ‘Pitching Research’ Symposium by 30 January 2015.

SIRCA is pleased to announce a new innovation in the Young Researcher Workshop (YRW) programme 2015.

Professor Robert Faff from the University of Queensland Business School will co-ordinate and lead a one day symposium comprising ‘pitching research’ presentations.

The symposium will be held on Friday 27 Feburary, 2015 at SIRCA.

FinanceCom 2014 Workshop – ‘New’ Emergent Trends of IT in the Finance Industry

Advancements in Information and Communication Technologies have paved the way to new business models, markets, networks, services, and players in the financial services industry. ​Following the success​ of recent​ ​global ​FinanceCom workshops​​, SIRCA is pleased to ​support the ​Sydney ​2014 FinanceCom Workshop on Enterprise Applications, Markets and Services in the Finance Industry, focusing on the theme ”New’ Emergent Trends of IT in the Finance Industry’. The workshop spans multiple disciplines, including technical, services, economic, sociological and behavioral sciences. SIRCA representatives will be present to talk about​ ​developments​ which will benefit our research community.​

Call for Papers – SIRCA ‘Pitching Research’ Symposium

Sirca RP Data Presentation by Dr. Danika Wright

Sirca are pleased to provide our Members with access to the presentation slides prepared by Dr. Danika Wright (University of Sydney) entitled “Indices, Investments and Ideology: 50 Years of Residential Real Estate Research”. Sirca Best Paper Award for the FMCGC 2015

Sirca is pleased to announce a $1,000 Best Paper sponsorship for the upcoming Financial Market and Corporate Governance Conference (FMCGC) to be held in Fremantle April 9-10, 2015. The prize will be awarded to the best paper which has used Sirca data (including ASX intraday tick data and regulatory disclosures, and Thomson Reuters intraday tick data and news). Please note that the use of Sirca data must be acknowledged in the paper.

WINNERS of the Philip Brown Prize 2013

The Philip Brown Prize for Best Published Paper is awarded to the best paper published in an A* journal in the previous calendar year using Sirca data. This prize is to recognise the significant contribution of Philip Brown in the establishment of Sirca and the work he did in developing databases to be used for finance and accounting research. The Philip Brown Prize is awarded annually through recommendation from senior scholars around Australia and New Zealand.

Sirca would like to congratulate this year’s joint winners on their successful publications from 2013:
